091 - Hate To Break It To You…
Monday, October 15th, 200710/18/07 UPDATE: If you're interested in being e-mailed when the print collection of Entre Nous is ready, go ahead and e-mail us via the link on the right. I'll send out an e-mail to you when the book is complete.
Li's quite the diplomat.
Okay, this is kind of difficult. After several long discussions with Rich, we've decided that Entre Nous as a regular comic strip has kind of run its course. There's one last strip coming in a little bit (I expect in the next few weeks) that kinda wraps some things up a bit… sort of.
We love the characters, and do want to tell more stories with them, but the habitual grind was too much for Rich. I can't blame him; he's worked six days a week for a couple of months, and is now on a seven-day-per-week schedule as the holiday movies finish up at Rhythm and Hues.
We're going to continue our collaboration, however. Next year we'll be off hiatus and working on shorter one-shot stories (EN would be included in that mix). The point of these projects is personal enjoyment, so there's likely no firm schedule involved. The hope is to do two or three of these one-shots a year, and publish them when they're done on the main site (which currently has no content) - www.ohnoescomix.com
I'm already working on a print collection of EN's "strip era". it will be chock-a-block full of extras, including every scrap of Rich's art I can get my hands on and scan, as well as some short stories I've written for myself, and one I'd intended to run during the hiatus. It's not extra strips, but it is extra content at least. Maybe you can line your birdcage with it or something.
I want to thank you all for sticking with us, some from the very beginning (Ian Dunn, Mark Balogh, Josh, Devin, Sarah, Alex, Eric B, andria, e_voyager, my wonderful girlfriend Gill, my parents, and many more who's names I don't know). Your efforts, comments and just showing up made the comic fun to do while it lasted. I'm sorry we're leaving.
~Matt
PS: Gill, I am so sorry for forgetting to put you in the thank you list.

Well…
I must say I have enjoyed the strip, and have been reading it for a while (since about the 3rd or 4th maybe).
Good Luck, and thanks for the comic.

One of the better anthro strips, I’d thought. Well-thought-out characters, decent storylines…too bad when life gets in the way of art, isn’t it?
All I can hope is that your muse starts prodding you forward once again. You have the “hard part” done — you’ve created a universe, and characters that people care about. You’ve come up with some interesting storylines, and it looks like there’s quite a bit more that can be done.
I’m sorry to see this strip wind down.
I wish you folks the best, wherever it is that you end up.

Please say it isn’t so. . . Adjust to once a week or bi-monthly! A very good strip like this one should not die. snif.

This is one of the best comics I have ever read, if not THE best, and I’m glad that I had the urge for some anthro comic reading a few months (or was it a year? my memory SUCKS >.

…the rest of my message got cut off.
(continuing from the last bit) …my memory SUCKS) ago.
I hope things work out better in the future for you two. It’s hard to open up all my anthro Web Comics through Firefox to see this one not have an update.
Good luck and Godspeed.

Could say that this is best web comix I ever read but it won’t make any sense - I don’t read much of them (so it’s easy to impress me I guess.)
But I can say that reading those strips was a lot of fun. And I apreciate the work that was done. And characters are cool* And well drawn. And I’m sorry for bad English. And I wish something rather positive for authors. And I want more. And I’m sad.
