This week's voting incentive is our second foray into vaguely cheesecake-y territory.  Becky lounges with a good book.  Depending on the level of shocked and concerned e-mails, we'll do some more, I'm sure.

Now that the bedroom is mostly finished, settling into its final layout, I've been playing more of my poor neglected PS2.  I'm finally getting somewhere in Dragon Quest VIII, a game which is now so aged in video game years that one might have to scratch one's long white beard in one's rocking chair trying to recall it.  Level 5 is an amazing development house, and their cel-shaded confection is not only sweet like a candy cat, but substantial: a meal of meat, potatoes, and anthropomorphic bell peppers generously portioned and served upon a platter gilt with ancient gold.

Rich has moved from one movie to another, due in no small part to his ability to work magic with tight schedules (though he is loathe to admit it, he has considerable skills, and is gaining what some might call a favorable reputation in his corner of "The Biz").  This brings us to a difficult set of decisions.  We've talked it over, and we're going to ease Entre Nous into a vacation mode.  This will come in two stages:

The first stage involves us going to one comic per week in September, after the Leona Felice: Angoran Attorney storyline ends (with 086).  We're going to run comics on Mondays, and segments of Becky's masterwork, Three Strikes And You're DEAD! on Thursdays.  This will go for about six weeks, taking us to the end of Year One.

The second stage eases us into vacation mode fully.  We will stop posting comics and story segments.  We're going to take some time off while Rich finishes his projects at Rhythm And Hues and regains his once titanic strength.  I will take the opportunity to compile our first collection in print, a volume I hope to outfit lavishly with all the art we've posted online, as well as many many more that have yet to be seen.  I have a fat manila envelope of older material waiting to be scanned for the first time, sketches I've collected like a pack-rat for almost two years now.  I expect the volume to be ready in time for the holidays.

We'll be honest: we're not sure how long it'll take to recharge our batteries, or exactly what form Entre Nous will take when we return.  It will likely be after the calendar year of 2008 begins before you'll see us posting new material again.  I'm not going to apologize or self-flagellate; we've produced under some unusual duress at various points in the last year, and it's time for a break.  We thank you all for reading, and for sticking with us.  We hope you'll mark your calendars and check back in 2008.
