072 - Ach!
Thursday, July 26th, 2007It does seem a little bit obvious, doesn't it?
I'm dead tired right now, so there won't be much of a rant today. Maybe this afternoon I'll add some more to it.
One thing I learned last night: barbecuing peaches on the grill? Awesome.

Some of you may have noticed the use of recycled images and panels in comics recently. Now, normally I'm rather against this, as I feel that it becomes a little stiff and static. However, lately in my life, time has become a premium commodity. Some of you know that I work in the Visual Effects business. I'm currently a Lead Technical Animator on The Golden Compass. The nature of this business is trying to do incredible amounts of work in short schedules. As work piles up and deadlines get closer, we start working the inevitable overtime. I'm currently working 6 days a week, 10 or more hours a day. This will only get worse as the deadline (Late October) gets closer. I'm still making sure to draw two comics a week, but some time saving measures must be taken when they can.

I missed so much of EN that I had to go back to the last comic in June to catch up.
(You gotta love changing internet providers. They tell you that everything is set up, but then you have to wait an extra 72-144 hours for everything to be “set up.” JOY.)
…Anywho, I’m loving the twist in the story.

Having read all three of the books, and read about the way that “Golden Compass” has been handled as a film, i am (A) worried that important elements of the story may have been left our and (B) worried that, if they *haven’t*, the series as a whole may well be too dark for USAian film audiences - heck, Kate refused to read books two and three because she didn’t like the way it was going.
And i;m not sure that America is ready for two gay angels in what it will doubtless consider as “kid’s fantasy”.
