Three Strikes and You’re DEAD - Part 2
Thursday, May 17th, 2007I haven't read very many hardboiled detective stories myself. (I'm a huge Sherlock Holmes fan though.) I've gotten most of my exposure to the genre from the Black Jack Justice stories on Decoder Ring Theatre. Whenever Anna Maxwell speaks I can hear the voice of "Trixie Dixon, Girl Detective" speaking. I'm a really big fan of the Decoder Ring Theatre podcast, both Black Jack Justice and The Red Panda Adventures. You should really give it a shot.
Matt redesigned the page a bit recently, and I like it. Give him some applause! We've also added an icon of the current voting incentive on the right, that way we're not having to mention the vote reward every time it changes. (Which should be on a regular basis.)

digging the new banner.
I also like that you found a “typewriter” font, not just courier - but why does Becky use a typewriter?

I am throwing the sounds my hands make when they clash (I think that’s clapping…) in Matt’s direction.
I’m loving the prose selections. How many will there be in this series?

Oh god, don’t feed my ego! I’ve got a door I need to fit my head through every morning!
Eric: Three Strikes And You’re DEAD will continue on in the background for a long while, though it will be out of sight for a little while during the next major storyline. Rich and I are both pleased by how well these two parts turned out, and I’m fully prepared to go as far as to offer a weekly post on Wednesdays, as soon as I get far enough ahead on the story to give me room.
Josh: Becky, like a lot of writers, is a bit superstitious and a bit of a luddite. Her reliance on her typewriter is a small arc Rich and I have discussed, and it’ll make it to the strip in due time.

Feh, A pox on typewriters! I’ll stick with my trusty fountain pens and quills instead.
