046 - Adieu
Thursday, April 19th, 2007A common difference of opinion between Matt and I comes from Dallas' accent, which is thicker at some times than others. I'm in favor a strong Scottish accent. (If i's nae Scottish, i's CRAP!) Matt is against it, citing that Dallas has been in the States since middle school and would have lost most of it. One compromise we came to is that we wouldn't turn Dallas' speech into indecipherable pronunciation, but that we would pepper his speech with occasional Scottish vocabulary/slang. Dallas' first speaking role in the comic illustrates this when he calls the girls 'Lassies'. 'Course… in some comics, we don't even notice his accent… Like this one. ;p

When Dallas is working his mojo, he can forget to listen to reason.
Tonight was the last night of the season for the Trailblazers. On my way home, I was stuffed like a (very lage) sardine in a light rail tin can. The doors opened and closed at each stop, with the occasional person squeezing out. One said a line I chuckled inwardly at as he talked to his wife: "Eht's okeh. Ah ken poosh."
Instantly I thought, "Man, that'd make a great Dallas line."
